Keep on Praying

“Jesus told his disciples a story about how they should keep on praying and never give up” Luke 18:1

Jesus himself told His followers to keep on praying and never give up. We as His chosen people among the church and community, are facing problems that ask for our diligence in praying. Why we are asked to keep on praying? So that the answers for our prayers are not stopped by the rulers in the spirits.

As an example in Daniel 10:12-14 “Then he said to me, "Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia,  and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come."

From Daniel’s experience, we can learn a few things:

  • God has listened to Daniel’s prayers ever since the first day Daniel prayed; and God has answered his prayer (verse 12)
  • In the middle of the journey, the answer to Daniel’s prayer is stopped by rulers in the spirits for 21 days (verse 13)
  • Daniel kept on praying. Then the answer to his prayers arrived (verse 14)

Seeing God’s involvement in Daniel’s prayers, if we pray diligently, we are getting rid of the obstacles that is blocking the journey of the answer of our prayers sent by God. The answer will be given to those who keep on praying.
