2009 USA Thanksgiving Retreat

Thumb

Thanksgiving Retreats this year took place across the USA, in the East & West Coasts as well as Central USA. The retreats focused on building an Unshakable Spirit among the IFGF GISI congregations there, so they can raise up as unshakable families, workers, and also servants of God.

The first East Coast Retreat took place in Atlanta from 25 to 27 November. With 50 people in attendance, Pdt. DR. Budi Hidajat together with Pdt. Harminto Ongko shared God's message. Pastor Budi then continued to bless the 135 people at the second East Coast Retreat in Pennsylvania from 26-28 November. During the retreat where Pdt. Henry Suhadi, Pdm. Lydia Suhadi, and Pdt. Tony Soewignjo also came to bless families there, a baptism ceremony for 6 new souls took place.

In the West Coast Retreats that were held simultaneously from 26 to 28 November, invited guest speakers included Pastor Jude Fouquier from City Church of Kirkland and Rev. Mattheus van der Steen from TRIN.

Then in Central USA, where the retreat took place in Grizzly Jacks Grand Bear resort in Utica, Illinois on 26-28 November, 100 people were strengthened by Apostle Fendy Hutomo. On the other side of USA Central, the retreat took place 90 miles north of Dallas at Tanglewood resort for 3 days; and 130 people went home refreshed and absolutely unshakable!

Testimonies

“We would like to thank  Apostle Fendy Hutomo who preached 5 sessions straight non-stop in this retreat. Many of us received the Holy Spirit baptism and were renewed in spirit. Moreover, our new believers that came were very excited and can't wait to join us in 2010's retreat. We’re all really blessed, strengthened and refreshed and going back to our own cities with a new mandate from God.” (IFGF GISI churches in Central USA)

It is a like a tradition for our family to spend the thanksgiving with our church family. This year is without exception. From year to year we have witnessed our children grow together; and our young adults become young parents. Nonetheless, we see that all of us continue striving to grow in the Lord. The Unshakable Generation is a very powerful and relevant movement which we embrace together. Many areas of life may be shaken, but as God's children we believe that we are an unshakable generation through His grace. Apostle Danny Hanafy challenged each person to become “HIP: Highly Impact Person" for the Kingdom of God. We trust that indeed through His grace each of us in the Thanksgiving Retreat received this calling to become a High Impact Person & Church in our community. (Pdp. Paulus Sastrodjojo - IFGF GISI Austin)
