2009 was an extraordinary year for IFGF GISI Qatar for throughout the year 2009, the IFGF GISI Qatar congregation have witnessed the extraordinary work and presence of God.

Since the beginning of its establishment, IFGF GISI Qatar continues to experience growth in the congregation. The church started with 50 active members when it first started, but now the membership has multiplied into 150 congregations by the end of 2009. And 40% of the congregation members in Qatar are of foreign nationals or non-Indonesians who come from Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and even African countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Until now, IFGF GISI Qatar is one those churches with congregation members coming from 13 (thirteen) different nations; this is one unique thing about IFGF GISI Qatar. To implement iCare and iGrow classes especially for those who speak Mandarin, Hindi, Tamil and Vietnamese, IFGF GISI Qatar must first translate the material into those languages before teaching them. And in each service, translation devices are needed so as to help church members who are from other countries.

Year 2009 has also witnessed the establishment of two new satellite churches, the Dukhan Satellite Church in April 2009 and the Al-Khor Satellite Church in November 2009. By the grace of God, IFGF GISI Qatar has grown much because of special iGrow classes for the Praise & Worship Team, the weekly prayer meeting in Dukhan Satellite Church, Doha, Al-Khor and Wakra, a WOV fellowship group, 8 iCare groups and 6 iGrow classes, and a full English Service held every Thursday night in Doha. The church has even begun Church Planting activities in Nigeria and Kuwait. This January 2010, the church is planning to start HIC (Harvest International Curriculum) classes which will produce strong missionaries for the Lord when they return to their home country.

In addition to the many testimonies, the young congregation members who have joined in the Youth movement here play an important role in the ministry and are a real blessing to other members of the body of Christ. In November & December 2009 a Youth (GOL Teens) Camp Retreat was held and attended by 12 teenagers. They all were blessed with the teaching and the Word of God .

Finally, 2009 was also a breakthrough year for IFGF GISI Qatar because in that year, IFGF GISI Qatar became an officially recognized Christian church in the Middle East region. Besides, IFGF GISI Qatar also opened the IFGF GISI Secretariat Office located in the city of Al-Khor. The building has a worship hall that can accommodate about 100 people, a prayer room, an iCare room, an iGrow room, a GOL Kids’ room, and other logistical areas.
