Raising funds committed by IFGF and WORLD HARVEST IFGF are successfully distributed for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Route were taken by Ps. Josaphat and team to get to Tacloban from General Santos through Cebu – Sogod – Tacloban – Ormoc – Cebu. Team bought a stock of goods in Sogod, municipality within 6 hours from Tacloban, because in Sogod more stock of goods than other cities near from Tacloban. They rented a truck from Sogod and begin the journey towards Tacloban. The team were able to access the area and we realized that typhoon impact was so great. Almost all municipalities affected. Such Mayourga, Dulga, Talosa where many children and parents begging and asking for food at the roadside. When the team saw them, they moved with compassion, so they gave some of good’s relief.
As arriving in Tacloban, the team directly coordinated with the pastor and church over there for safety place in the wrapping of the package. There are about 705 families who receive this aid package including non believer so that there will be a chance to be able to share the Good News. Not only the aid package, the team also checked the health of the victims. This relief was distributed to the victims in the area of Samar and Ormoc.
The success of this relief mission cannot be separated from solidarity movements performed by IFGF churches and WORLD HARVEST in Indonesia and abroad. Last but not least, we are very grateful for all donors who gave the aid through IFGF and WORLD HARVEST. Through this relief ministry, we believe that God’s name will be glorified and bring impact to Philippines people.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor 15:58-59)
